SPY ON ME#2

We have arrived in the reality of digital change. Living with screens, apps and algorithms shapes our behaviour, our attention and our desires. Meanwhile, a re-organisation of public space and democracy is taking place by digital means. The festival „Spy on Me“ is entering its second round after 2018 and is looking for manoeuvres for the digital present together with Berlin and international artists*. Performances, interactive space installations and discourse events examine the complex effects of digital social transformation. In the theatre we are researching ways out of feelings of powerlessness and excessive demands that many users of internet-based technologies feel. For it is not only in a digital utopia of the future, but here, in the midst of this present, that the conditions of social coexistence and planetary survival are at stake. Are we on the verge of a digital darkness or at a decisive turning point in perspective?
